一、概念:英语顶用来标明事物的数量或次序的词叫做数词。根据数词的特征，可将数词分为基数词和序数词。
其间，标明数量的词称为基数词;标明次序的词称为序数词。
举个栗子:
one, two, three, four→基数词
first, second, third -序数词
怎么去区别呢?很简略:中文是第几-用序数词，否则用-基数词。

不过，这两者的彼此变换是有必定规则的，且看:

one–first; two–second; three–third; four–fourth;
five–fifth; six -sixth; seven-seventh; nine–ninth;

2).基数词的特别用法
a.用逢十的基数词的复数方法，标明，规划: by/ in/ since the基数词的复数或一切格。如:?
by the 1940s到20世纪40年代
since the 1970s自20世纪70年代
b.用逢十的基数词的复数方法，标明s+基数词的复数。如:?
in ones twenties在或人20多岁时
in his fifties在他50多岁时

四、序数的留心思项:
1).多位数的基数词变成序数词时，只需将末位基数词变成序数词，前边的基数词不变。如:
42: forty-two;第42: forty- second
900: nine-hundred;第900: nine-hundredth

2).当序数词用阿拉伯数字标明时，有必要在数字后加上序数词的最终两个字母。如:
第21: 21st
第32: 32nd
第45: 45th

3).序数词前一般用定冠词the,假定序数词前用a或an时，则标明又一/再一(没有具体规模的捆绑)。如:
although he has failed twice, he wants to try a third time.
尽管他已失利了两次，他还想再试一次。
the little girl has had three apples, and she wants to have a fourth one.
